I've been using the Lenovo S10 quite a bit lately and really enjoy using the little netbook. One of my friends asked me how fast he could get online with it so I filmed this quick video.
I've had my share of 'bad Apples,' but none was nearly as bad as the MacBook Pro I bought four months ago. As I wrote back in March, Apple products have something against me- maybe because they have to share my attention and desk-space with numerous PC notebooks. That's why I wasn't completely surprised when my MacBook Pro's display did a great Zebra impersonation today. I was completely surprised by the treatment I got at the Apple Store and had one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time. 
Ann Finnie from HP sent over a new promo video for the HP Mini 1000. I really like these brief ads that Adcetera ( a Houston, TX ad agency) puts together for HP. They are always very concise and communicate a few benefits of HP's products in layman's terms. 
HP's built an interface called Mobile Internet Experience (MIE) for the Mini 1000. MIE is designed to make it easy for people to do the most common Internet-related tasks on the Mini 1000 and make it possible for them to use Linux without having to actually learn a thing about Linux.

Here's a brief unboxing of a HP Mini 1000. One thing that's cool about the HP Mini 1000's packaging is that it's actually better looking than most of HP's Pavilion notebook lineup. 
Amazon is doing something that should be common sense: Removing unnecessary packaging and shoving the gadgets in an easy to open package.Frustration Free Pacakaging is a multi-year initiative to rid Amazon.com of clamshells and other idiotic enclosures that take forever to open.

After testing seven netbooks (Asus Eee PC 4G, Asus Eee PC 900, MSI U100, Dell Inspiron 910, HP 2133, Geode reference design, Asus Eee PC 1000H ), over the last five months, I now know what I want to see in future designs. This may not be the same for all 6,699,999,999 people on earth, but perhaps for a handful or two of like-minded people.

All Lenovo ThinkPad SL, T and X series notebooks will now come standard with an embedded 3G card to connect to AT&T mobile broadband network. The internal 3G card was previously an option on these ThnkPads and cost up to $150.

There's been a lot of discussion around the HP Mini 1000 over the past couple of days, but the introduction of the Mini 1000 has caused some confusion over the fate of the HP Mini Note 2133. Earlier this week, several people pointed out that the Mini Note 2133 is selling for as low as $299 on Amazon.com, signalling the immenent release of a replacement. 
Best Buy will begin selling the eMachines eMD620-5777 notebook for $429 starting November 1st. This price point makes it cheaper than a lot of the netbooks everyone's getting excited about.
