HP Notebook Battery Recall

HP is recalling 15,700 notebook batteries that are prone to overheating and have burned a couple of users. The affected batteries were installed on the following notebook models: HP Pavilion dv1xxx and ze2xxx series, HP Compaq nx48xx series, and Compaq Presario V2xxx and M2xxx series. The lithium-ion batteries in question have a bar code that starts with “L3,” and were manufactured in January 2005.
