Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Ruggedized Business Notebook Details, Features and Specs

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG is a ruggedized version of the Dell Latitude E6420 business class laptop which was also announced today. The E6420 ATG is certainly suited for a more rugged environment, but it is part of the same Dell Latitude E Family of laptops which were announced at the Dell Means Business event in San Francisco today.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Processor and Graphics Options:

The Latitude E6420 ATG is powered by the latest Intel 2nd Generation Core i family of processors. While these new processors offer better integrated graphics the E6420 ATG can also be configured with a NVIDIA N12P 512MB GPU with Optimus for more performance. The E6420 ATG has 2 slots for RAM and can handle up to 8GB of DDR3 Ram.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Screen Options:

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG comes with two screen options, both of which run at 1366×768 resolution and measure 14″. Both screen options are Wide View Outdoor Viewable and come with impact resistant protective front glass, but users can opt for a touchscreen if it helps them get their work done.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Durability Features:

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG has a wide array of durability options you won’t find on other laptops. In addition to the spill resistant keyboard and LCD seal the E6420 ATG is tested against MIL STD 810G and IP5X environments to keep your notebook running in extreme environments.

has a Mil-STD 810G tested Tri-Metal casing and a powder coated underside which are designed to keep your notebook safe while you get your work done. Also built-in is a spill resistant keyboard, reinforced metal hinges and a LCD seal that keeps unwanted items from  getting between your screen and keyboard. The E6420 ATG has port covers to keep dust and moisture out as well as a powder coated base to prevent nicks and scratches.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Usability and Battery Options:

With a backlit keyboard and optional touchscreen the E6420 ATG is ready to keep you working in many environments. The task is made easier thanks to the LCD which can open up to 180 degrees so that you’ll always have a good angle to work from. The E6420ATG also has many battery options such as ExpressCharge and modular bay options to keep you juiced up.

Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Security Options:

The Latitude E6420 ATG offers numerous protection options including the ability to lock ports or encrypt hard drives to kep data safe. Like the rest of the Dell Latitude E family also uses Dell Data Protection and ControlVault to keep data safe. The built-in freefall sensor and StrikeZone technology will keep the hard drive safe in the event that you really need to test the ruggedized nature of the E6420 ATG. Users can log in with a fingerprint reader or contactless smart card reader for additional security.
