There was a lot of buzz around Logitech's Air Mouse last week, but the Gyration Ultra R4000 may be a better choice for those looking for an all-in-one solution. The Gyration R4000 has a motion-sensing mouse function so you can navigate through Media Center and an LCD that displays music info and playlists. 
loopt will be the first social mapping service on a major U.S. carrier as it teams up with Sprint to offer real-world. Sprint customers nationwide can now find and connect with friends using loopt, a location based service that uses the GPS capabilities on select phones to facilitate real-world interaction between friends. loopt was previously available only through Boost. 
Intel announced the Core 2 Extreme mobile dual-core processor, which the company is billing as the world's highest-performing mobile processor. Intel also introduced new desktop processors and said it expects to announce battery-friendly quad-core processors for laptop computers next year. 
HP's new business tablet is now shipping. The all-new 2710p has a slick aluminum case, a look that the rest of the Compaq business notebooks may adopt in the future. An auxilliary battery and DVD burner can be stacked to this slim tablet. 
HP Japan is minting 1,000 special edition dv6500 notebooks that feature a white lid. Not sure how 'limited' or 'special' these white HP dv6500 series notebooks are, with similar looking ones showing up everywhere from HP's home shopping catalog to Best Buy. Other than the white snow pattern, these notebooks are identical to the standard dv6500's and can be configured with the latest IntelCore 2 Duo processors. 
Intel is now supporting the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project, after some very public bitterness. OLPC founder Nicholas Negroponte previously accused Intel of trying to squash his groups progress in delivering $100 laptops to children in developing countries, but is signing a much different tune as Intel joins the OLPC board. 
Gateway's launhing two new notebook series that bring some much-needed style to the company's lineup. The Gateway M-Series and T-Series will be available in several colors including Crimson Red, Slate Grey and Pacific Blue.

Lenovo is now selling the T61p, a workstation version of its popular T61 series notebook. The T61p, a 15.4-inch widescreen ThinkPad, is Lenovo's most powerful notebook and to date, yet runs cooler, quieter and more energy efficient than previous models. The new ThinkPad series features the latest Centrino Pro processors, NVIDIA Quadro FX graphics and an optional Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless card to connect to wireless printers, cameras and other devices. 
Belkin announced the N1 Vision wireless router that features a display that shows network activity. The interactive display makes it easy to visualize a network's broadband speed, computer bandwidth usage, and the status of connected network devices. 
LapWorks launched the Futura laptop desk today. The Futura’s dual-purpose design provides an ergonomically-sound workspace across the lap, and folds into a wedge-shaped stand for desk use. According to Lapworks, the Futura will come in "fashion colors" in the coming months, but for now users will have to settle for 'gun-metal' gray. LapWorks also plans to offer customized Futura paint jobs.

AMD announced the ATI TV Wonder 600 USB HDTV tuner for notebooks and desktops today. The new tuner integrates with Vista Media Center or XP Media Center to make it easy to watch and record television broadcasts on your notebook. The One Laptop Per Child project expects unit prices of its notebooks for children in emerging markets to drop to $50 by 2009.
The project’s CTO, Mary Lou Jepsen says one million OLPC notebooks will ship per month by the end of 2007. Things are expected to accellerate quickly and 150 million OLPC notebooks will ship by the end of 2008. 
Solid state drives (SSD) continue to gain momentum, with Transcend doubling its ExpressCard offerings from 16GB to 32GB. The new ExpressCard drive supports ReadyBoost and comes with a USB-adapter so you can plug it into your computers that aren't equiped with an ExpressCard slot. 
Microsoft showed off several Windows features that are available exclusively to those who pony up the extra bucks for Vista Ultimate. Unfortunately, things have been slow and all Vista Ultimate users have seen so far are language packs (not much good unless you're multilingual), Windows Hold'Em poker and a couple of utilities. 
Toshiba announced the Satellite U305 series- a new 13.3-inch notebook for consumers and small business owners. The U305 notebook weighs in at 4.6-pounds and packs a DVD SuperMulti burner and 1.3MP webcam. The U305 is available in several configurations, starting at $899. 
I picked up my iPhone Friday night and had a lot of trouble with it freezing up under what I consider light to medium usage. Late Friday night it froze just after setting it up. Yesterday it froze while browsing the web and switching from watching a Podcast to the home screen.
