HP announced two budget business notebooks today for small businesses. The Compaq 6720s and 6820s are optimized for price and feature a silver lid, a deviation from the company’s standard dark-gray exteriors. 
Apple revamped its entire line of iPods today. The company announced the iPod Touch, an iPhone minus the phone, and updated the Nano, Shuffle and iPod Video. The iPod Touch features the same touchscreen as the iPhone and WiFi for web browsing and purchasing songs wirelessly. All of the iPods, except for the Shuffle, have an extensively redesigned interface. 
Apple unveiled the Wi-Fi Music Store, which will allow Wi-Fi enabled iPod and iPhone users to browse, preview and purchase songs over the air. 
Today Dell introduced the Precision M6300 mobile workstation for pros who need the ultimate in performance. Designed for artists, engineers and others that use demanding applications such as CAD, the M6300 is a true workhorse. 
AT&T announced Smart Limits for Wireless, a set of features that parents will love and kids will hate. The new Web-based features allows parents to control how and when their children can use their mobile phones, as well as limit the number of ringtones and downloads they purchase. 
NPD Group is reporting that Apple's notebooks are gaining popularity. The analysts said that for the month of June, 17.6% of notebooks sold in the U.S. were MacBooks and MacBook Pros.

Acer announced it's acquiring Gateway for $710-million, the fourth largest PC company in the US. The combination will create a multi-branded PC-company with more than $15 billion in revenues and shipments in excess of 20 million PC units per year.

Toshiba announced it will begin producing the world's highest capacity notebook drives. The MK3252GSX stores 320GB of data and spins at 5,400 RPM. The new Toshiba drives edges out Fujitsu's 300GB model for highest capacity of any 2.5-inch drive.
