MSI Resumes Shipping GT680R and GE620R Sandy Bridge Notebooks, Adds Addtl 1 Year Warranty

MSI has announced that customers can once again order the MSI GT680R and GE620R notebooks which had been put on hold due to the Sandy Bridge Chipset Issue which delayed many notebooks in early 2011.

The MSI GT680R is a 1.56″ desktop replacement gaming notebook powered by a 2nd Generation Core i7-2630QM processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX460M GPU and support for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM. The updated GT680R retails for $1,649 and can be found at Newegg.com for $1,499.

Additionally, the MSI GE620 is also shipping again. The GE620 is also powered by the 2nd Generation Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, but is aimed at more casual gamers.

Both of these notebooks, and all 2nd Generation Core i processor powered MSI notebooks are also able to qualify for the MSI Quality Assurance Program, which offers an additional one-year extended warranty.

  • MSI FX420
  • MSI FX720
  • MSI FR720
  • MSI CR640
  • MSI CX640

Purchases must be registered with in 30 days of purchase at the MSI Product Registration webpage to claim the 1 year warranty extension.
