Apple Reworking Notification System for iOS by Purchasing Boxcar?

It is possible that Apple is working on a change for the company’s iOS notification system by implementing technology from a third-party company with an app called Boxcar, according to a rumor from Cult of Mac.

If true, it would be a welcome change to the iOS notification system since many see the current system of pop-up windows notifying users of things like text messages, missed phone calls, voicemail and information from other apps as intrusive.

The report states that their anonymous source said that the company that Apple is planning to purchase has an app in the iOS App Store but didn’t know the name of the app. Cult of Mac believes that Boxcar is a likely possibility since it offers this feature for services like Twitter, Facebook and email.
