Dell Introduces the Latitude Z with Wireless Charging
No longer content to follow in the footsteps of industry innovators, Dell is pulling out the stops and releasing the new Dell Latitude Z, a notebook that is being touted as the first laptop that can recharge wirelessly. But, that’s not all the new ‘Z’ can do, it also has Ultra Wide Band technology to support a wireless monitor dock and even some touch tech as well.
Will Windows 7 Mean More Expensive Netbooks?
The Industry Standard reports that the introduction of Windows 7 in October could bring a price increase for netbooks as Microsoft will likely ask for more than the $15 it currently charges for manufacturers to install Windows XP. An analyst speaking to the Standard feels that with Windows 7 coming to netbooks we’ll see prices rise and $300 netbooks become a thing of the past. Well Windows based $300 netbooks anyway.

Do Netbooks Help You Work Distraction Free?
Last week Farhad Manjoo wrote in the NY Times about the troubles of working on “the most distraction machines ever invented”, providing links to many different tools to “tame” your digital distractions.
Some of the biggest distractions users like myself face when connecting to the Internet to get work done are time-sucks like Hulu, Instant messaging, Twitter, Flickr, and any number of flash games. It seems that Farhad is right, this blasted notebook is the most distracting machine invented.
While I find myself drawn to these time-wasters as soon as I sit down at work in the morning or drop in behind a widescreen monitor at home I noticed there’s one place where I don’t feel the same pull; on my netbook.
