Lenovo's introduced the ThinkPad X200s, a lightweight business notebook for business travelers and the X200t,the first widescreen ThinkPad tablet. Tom Ribble, the director of worldwide ThinkPad marketing, called me this morning to talk about the latest additions to the ThinkPad family. 
Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 was on display at the Intel Developer's Forum in San Francisco today and we got a full demo. The S10 is well built and has a lot of features not found on other netbooks in its price range. The IdeaPad S10 is now available for order from $429. 
HP's introduced the EliteBook 2530p, a thin and light 12-inch business notebook that can be configured with dual hard drives and either ULV or LV processors. I sat down with HP's Kyle Thorton to take a close look at the 2530p last week. 
HP's new EliteBook 8730w is a performance powerhouse with a drop-dead gorgeous 17-inch display. The DreamColor display (optional) is capable of 16,000,000 colors and is incredibly life-like compared to standard business notebook fare. 
Lenovo's making a serious first-splash into the mobile workstation market with the ThinkPad W700, a 17-inch workstation that can be configured with an integrated Wacom digitizer and an integrated color calibration system. The ThinkPad W700 is an impressive piece of engineering and offers the notebook market some much-needed innovation. 
Most notebooks don't mix well with liquids, but the XTablet 8700 from Mobile Demand is no ordinary computer. The xTablet T8700 exceeds military specifications for ruggedness and its makers claim it has a lower total cost of ownership than non-ruggedized PCs In the below video, Conrad from RuggedPCReview demos how the XTablet T8700 still functions while holding it under water in his swimming pool. He takes it a step further and puts on his scuba gear to show that the tablet can withstand being fully submerged under a few feet of water.
The Fresno United School District has ordered 7,000 HP Mini-Notes for students. The HP Mini Note 2133 was designed specifically for the education market and this is the first of many school districts we'll hear about working HP's tiny notebook into their lesson plans. 
HP introduced the Pavilion tx2500z last week in Berlin at the Making Connections 2008 conference. Kevin Wentzel explains the improvements and explains why the tx2500z could be an ideal notebook for students. 
Toshiba’s expanded its multimedia powerhouse Qosmio brand with three new notebooks today. The Qosmio G55, Qosmio X305 and Qosmio F55 are specifically designed for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts. 
Joao Oliveira won HP's and MTV's Take Action, Make Art global design competition last year with his "Asian Odyssey" design. I met Joao at CES 2008 in Las Vegas to check out his design, which will be appear on a special edition dv2700 series notebook. 
I caught up with Ravi Sood, of HP's gaming division. Ravi's brother founded VooDooPC in 1991 to make performance PCs and sold the company in late 2006 to HP. 
Sony didn't have any brand spanking new notebooks for us at CES 2008, but they did have some impressively spec'd TZ, SZ, FZ and AR series VAIO notebooks on hand. We stopped by the Sony booth at CES 2008 to take a closer look. 
HP's announced the Pavilion tx2000, a significant upgrade to its consumer line of tablet PCs. The tx2000 features an active digitizer for improved hand-writing recognition compared to last year's tx1000 series. Check out the following video of the new tx2000. 
HP is updating its Pavilion 14.1-inch, 15.4-inch and 17-inch notebook lines and offering Blu-Ray ROM drives in its consumer line for the first tme. The new dv2700, dv6700 and dv9700 are very similar to the previous models and will accomodoate future components that will be announced in the coming months. 
The Zonbu notebook is designed to be energy efficient and low maintainence, thanks to automatic system updates and a paid subscription service. The Zonbu notebook starts at just $279 if you're willing to commit to a two-year, $14.95 per month subscription fee. 
The Dell XPS M153o is the latest update to the company's high-performance notebook line. The XPS M1530 is built of magnesium alloy and aluminum, giving it a high-class appearance at a reasonable $999 entry price. Available in a black, red and white, the XPSM1530 can be loaded with a Blu-Ray disc burner and a solid state drive. 
Amazon officially announced the Kindle, a wireless reading device that's doomed to fail. The Kindle brings several innovations to the e-book reader table, but there are too many flaws for it to succeed in its current state.
