Most notebooks don't mix well with liquids, but the XTablet 8700 from Mobile Demand is no ordinary computer. The xTablet T8700 exceeds military specifications for ruggedness and its makers claim it has a lower total cost of ownership than non-ruggedized PCs In the below video, Conrad from RuggedPCReview demos how the XTablet T8700 still functions while holding it under water in his swimming pool. He takes it a step further and puts on his scuba gear to show that the tablet can withstand being fully submerged under a few feet of water.

School District Gets 7,000 HP Mini Notes

The Fresno United School District has ordered 7,000 HP Mini-Notes for students. The HP Mini Note 2133 was designed specifically for the education market and this is the first of many school districts we'll hear about working HP's tiny notebook into their lesson plans.
