Michael Dell demoed the new Latitude XT Tablet at Oracle's OpenWorld conference today. The Dell Latitude XT is the thinnest 12.1-inch convertible notebook and has a multi-touch display. 
AT&T and Sierra Wireless annoucned the USBConnect 881 USB modem, which is the first to have AT&T's WWAN Communication Manager software pre-loaded on the device itself. This means the USBConnect 881 is plug and play on any XP or Vista notebook. 
CompUSA is discounting the Sony VAIO VGN-NR140E/S to $549.99 on Black Friday, a $250 discount. The NR140E/S is a retail version of the VAIO NR series, which is the cheapest line of notebooks Sony's ever produced. 
CompUSA will discount the HP Pavilion HDX9010NR to $2,599 on Black Friday. While this is $400 off MSRP, the HDX9010NR is readily available for $2,699 at CompUSA and other retailers, making the real Black Friday discount worth only $100.

SanDisk unveiled the Vaulter Disk, a solid-state storage solution that works in conjunction with a PC's hard drive to store and launch the computer's operating system and software applications. The new SanDisk Vaulter Disk tag-teams with the hard drive to provide enhanced performance over a PC that has only a hard drive. The Vaulter Disk will be available in 8GB and 16GB capicities for OEMs starting in early 2008. 
Costco is selling the HP Pavilion dv6623cl-b notebook for $799.99 the weekend after Thanksgiving. Starting on Black Friday, Costco members can use a $100 coupon to reduce the normal $899 price tag.

Best Buy will have the Gateway T-1620 on sale for $629.99 on Black Friday, a $200 discount. The Gateway T-1620 is an affordable thin and light laptop. It has a 14.1-inch Ultrabright Display and weighs 5.55 pounds.

This sure brought back memories of my first mobile tech gadgets. The $175 price tag on CompleteTechnique's silver Walkman pendant is about 3x the cost of my Walkman circa 1984. Ahh...the good old days when getting a 90-minute tape was a real treat.
