After years of speculation and with much fanfare, Apple has finally announced the Apple Tablet. The Apple Tablet is being called the Apple iPad which starts at $499 without 3G.

The Apple iPad is finally here and you can find out some more details below.

Apple iPad Cost:

Wifi Only – Ships in 60 days

  • 16GB – $499
  • 32 GB – $599
  • 64 GB- $699

Wifi and 3G – $130 added feature – Ships in 90 days

A few interesting things to point out are that the device does have 3G connectivity, and it is available on a prepay basis with no contract.

The two plans are available on AT&T:

  • 250 MB for $14.99
  • Unlimited for $29.99

external_20100127Another big feature is the addition of books to the iTunes store — called iBooks — something we hope will be available to iTunes users on PC and OSX.

The iPad will also work with iWork ’10 which brings documents, spreadsheets and presentations to the iPad and from the looks of the demonstration will give iPad users the ability to edit and even create documents.
