At CES Unveiled last night, I got my first glimpse of the Entourage eDGe.

According to Entourage, its a Dualbook.  What does that mean?

The enTourage eDGeâ„¢ is the world’s first dualbook, combining the functions of an e-reader, netbook, notepad, and audio/video recorder and player in one. It’s a comprehensive device that lets you read e-books, surf the Internet, take digital notes, send emails and instant messages, watch movies and listen to music anywhere, at any time. This is nothing you’ve ever seen before!

I got to play with it for a few minutes and its pretty neat.  The UI can either be their customized touch screen “drag and drop” or a more “iPhone-esque” interface. It runs on Android so there will applications available for it.  It has built in WiFi, with 3G coming soon.

In talking with the folks from JKKMobile, the opinion was that this will do well in Asian markets, especially the education system but we werent sure about how the US will like it.  It has to compete with the Kindle, the Nook, and the other slew of ereaders and netbooks due out this year.

It will be fun to see what happens to this device.  It definitely has the potential to go somewhere.
