Both the Horde and Alliance WoW make the perfect Christmas gift for anyone that’s really into the game. They feature custom designs and beefier specs than standard XPS M1730s. The Dell World of Warcraft notebooks come with a ton of goodies including a WoW backpack, Blizzard Beta Club Card and a figurine of your WoW character.

The Dell XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition starts at $4,449 direct from Dell and can be customized to your liking. Upgrades and options can push the price tag to $8,019. Vista Ultimate is standard with the WoW edition laptop.

Dell XPS M1730 World of WarcraftThe base version of the XPS M1730 WoW comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7500 2.2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache. The 2.4GHz INtel Core 2 Duo T7700 is a $125 add-on, while the 2.6GHz T7800 is an extra $400. The most serious gamers can order the Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900, which has a clock speed of 2.8GHz and is a $750 upgrade.

Dell XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Drive Options

The WoW edition M1730 can be ordered with single/dual 160GB or 200GB 7200RPM hard drives. The base version of the notebook comes with a single 160GB drive, with the dual 200GB (400GB total) setup is a $300 upgrade.

If you want the durability of Solid State Drives, Dell is offering a single 64GB SSD for $1,050 or dual 64GB SSD for $1950.

The base configuration includes a multiformat CD/DVD burner. An optional Blu-ray burner is a $400 upgrade. The Blu-ray drive can burn up to 50GB of data onto a single disc.

XPS M1730 Wow Edition Wireless Options

The base model comes with an 802.11a/g adapter, if you want 802.11n speeds you’ll need to pay an extra $25. For a notebook of this price 802.11n should be standard. Bluetooth is also an extra $20.

XPS M1730 WoW Edition Memory

The standard configuration comes with 2GB of RAM, which is fine for most users. Upgrading to 4GB will set you back $375, which is about double what you’d pay compared to buying aftermarket RAM and installing it yourself.
