Dell Precision M2300 Mobile Workstation Now Available

Dell Precision M2300Dell’s introduced the Precision M2300 notebook, the company’s first 14-inch widescreen workstation. It’s is a professional-grade notebook with fast components, including an optional solid state drive. Designed for balanced mobility, the 14-inch form factor is great for professionals who need power in a small package.

The Dell Precision M2300 is built on Intel’s Santa Rosa platform, with fast Core 2 Duo processors – up to 2.6Ghz. The M2300 can be configured with up to 4GB of memory and a 160GB hard drive that spins at 7200RPM. Graphics are powered by the NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M GPU, with 128MB of video RAM. Buyers can opt for a 32GB solid state drive, but it won’t be large enough for many users and the $550 premium will scare others away.

The Precision M2300 comes with an integrated 802.11n wireless card and is equipped with Bluetooth. There’s an optional EVDO Rev A mini card to that connects to Verizon’s mobile broadband network.

The Dell Precision M2300 comes with an expansion bay that can accommodate an optical drive, extra hard drive or second battery.
Dell gives business users the option of sticking with Windows XP Pro or migrating over to Windows Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
