Both come with a 15.4-inch widescreen display,512MB of memory and 80GB hard drive.HP sure wasn’t highlighting these notebooks at its mobility summit last week, but two new budget notebooks will be gracing retailer’s shelves nearly everywhere.
The consumer version of the HP 530 is powered by a 1.46GHz Intel Celeron M 410 processor and comes with a DVD/CD-RW combo drive. It comes with Vista Home Basic, so don’t expect fancy Aero graphics. This model will hit store shelves everywere with a $549 price tag.
The business-minded HP 530 GH640AT has an Intel Core Duo processor T2050 1.60 GHz and includes a DVD burner. It comes with Vista Business instead of Vista Home Basic. The MSRP for the 530 GH640AT is $699.
While the pricing is attractive, potential buyers should note that these notebooks’ components are dated and will struggle to run resource-hungry applications.
