Chris from Alienware showed me the new Area 51 m15x gaming and multimedia notebook. It's the only 15.4-inch notebook with Intel Core 2 Extreme processor and NVIDIA 8800M GTX graphics card. The Area 51 m15x has a media bay that can handle a second hard drive, for up to 640GB of storage. There's an optional Blu-ray drive if you want to enjoy movies at full 1080p goodness. 
Seagate showed off D.A.V.E. (Digital Audio Video Experience) at CES 2008. The wireless hard drive can add 60GB of storage to a mobile phone, notebook or TV. should see products based on this platform by the end of this year.

Seagate introduced the Maxtor BlackArmor external hard drive, which is the world's first external drive with full disk encryption. Seagate claims it can take up to 30 years to crack the encryption, depending on the strength of your password. 
The mylo COM 2 boasts a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD (800 x 480 pixels), 1GB of flash memory and integrated camera. The mylo COM 2 has a several chat clients and can be customized with widgets. For $299 you get what Sony calls 'all the fun parts of computer' in a compact form factor.

The company introduced the IdeaBook line for consumers this week and may announce this MID at CES 2008.

3M is working on bringing miniature projectors to mobile devices. I love small devices, but watching movies and other multimedia content on small screens isn't very satisfying. 3M claims their compact LED projector can produce 40-inch images. 
Hitachi announced the world's highest capacity 2.5-inch mobile hard drive. The Travelstar 5K500 boasts 500GB of capacity but it won't fit in mainstream notebooks.Rather than increasing data density, Hitachi is stacking two 250GB platters into the drive. The drive is 12.5mm thick, rather than the standard 9mm for notebooks. 
HP's updated the HDX with improved specs and an optional Blu-ray disc drive. This updated 20.1-inch notebook starts at less than $1,999, but extras can push the price tag to more than $4,500. Check out the following video of the new HDX.
