New Gateway NV Series Notebooks

Gateway's updated its NV Series of affordable notebooks today. The Gateway NV notebooks start at just $499 and offer a number of easy-to-use features, including one-touch power savings and one-touch backup. Gateway NV notebooks come in several configurations including two base models that you'll likely find discounted even further in the coming months. Gateway NV notebooks have a 15.6" widescreen display and can be connected to external displays via HDMI or VGA ports.

HP to Offer Free Windows 7 Upgrades to Notebook Customers

HP will offer free upgrades to Microsoft Windows 7 to anyone who purchases an HP notebook between now and October 22. HP customers who register for the program will receive a free upgrade copy of Windows 7 and an upgrade utility disc shortly after it's released this fall.

picture-51A lot of iPhone 3G owners have been complaining that they'd have to pay $200 more than new or "eligible" customers if they wanted to upgrade to the iPhone 3G S, but AT&T has reduced the upgrade price for many customers. Starting today, iPhone 3G subscribers who would have been eligible for an upgrade in July, August or September can buy an iPhone 3G S for $199 (16GB) or $299 (32GB).
