When we first got a look at Dell’s 9.99mm thick concept notebook, the Adamo XPS, it was so thin and light that Xavier wondered if Dell would actually sell the concept notebook.
It looks like Dell is pushing forward on its quest to slice the competition down to the size with new images of the razor-esque looking Dell Adamo XPS leaking out which show us what ports the Adamo XPS will have.
If you have decided to upgrade to Windows 7, you have one other thing to to do, choose an edition. This will depend on a number of factors, whether you are doing a clean install, upgrading from a previous version of Windows, or you have multiple PC's in your home. Microsoft has made choosing an edition of Windows 7 a little easier in comparison to Windows Vista. Instead of 6 editions, you will now see 3 editions in mainstream markets. Cost is also a factor and users need to evaluate their needs.
We continue our look at moving from previous versions of Windows to Windows 7. Yep, there are many Windows XP users out there who continue to enjoy it. But they are hearing about Windows 7 a lot lately and all the really cool new features it offers, from desktop improvements to how you do things easier like networking, organization of files and better performance.
The HP Mini 311 is one of the first netbooks out that really blurs the line between netbook and full featured notebook, thanks to its NVIDIA ION GPU. That's not all, with an impressive screen and new features coming with Windows 7 and Flash 10.1 the Mini 311 may actually be a netbook with enough power to be the primary PC for average users.
We've gathered up the HP Mini 311 reviews and hands on experiences to give you a good look at what you can expect from the little powerhouse.

Losing your laptop can be a huge pain. Not only are you out the cost of your laptop but you may have lost confidential documents or a term paper that hasn't yet been backed up. There are several programs and services that let you track down your laptop and even work with law enforcement to help recover a stolen laptop.
Phoenix Technologies, notably known for making Bios software, has a new service call FailSafe that helps you track the last place your laptop connected to the internet, retrieve or delete files and even disable the computer completely.
I've owned my current MacBook Pro 13" since July and still have little to complain about. My previous review provided a nice, general overview of the popular n...

Dual screens are an absolute must for anyone who works with multiple documents or windows that contain relevant data. Unfortunately not every company is willing to spend the money for a second graphics card and a monitor. Thankfully that doesn't matter anymore. Thanks to a cool application called MaxiVista you can turn any networked notebook into a second monitor.
So far we have looked at two ways of installing Windows 7 on your PC – Clean/Custom Install or In-Place Upgrading. Many persons will be buying Windows 7 on a new PC when its released and would like to get their personal data from an old PC to the new PC running Windows 7. Windows 7 offers an easy, convenient way to make the move with the built in Windows Easy Transfer utility. As you can see in the screenshot below, I have a lot of files on my old PC running Windows 7, and I would like to get those files over safely over to my new computer also running Windows 7.

We recently took a look at installing the Windows 7 using a Clean/Custom Install scenario. This next article will involve doing an in-place upgrade from an existing version of Windows such as Windows Vista SP1 to Windows 7.
For the last few weeks I've had the opportunity to use the Dell Studio 14z laptop while I test out Phoenix Technologies new Laptop location technology service called FailSafe. The Dell Studio 14z is one of the most portable full size Dell laptop's to hit the market and starts at $699. The Studio 14z ditches the optical drive to cut the weight down to 4.3 pounds and when combined with the slim design makes for an attractive packaged 14" laptop. You can get the 14z in Black Chainlink, Ruby Red, Midnight Blue, Spring Green and Plum Purple.
Overall the Studio 14z is a good laptop with a few quirks but in the end the extras make up for most of the shortcomings.
That's right; in a recent survey by Retrevo, a consumer electronics shopping site, 67% percent of Mac users would take Windows 7 for a spin if it was free! Before Steve Jobs has a heart attack or Balmer starts sweating up a storm with his victory dance; take note that 97% of Mac owners surveyed said that they wouldn't even think about switching back to Windows full time.
But just because Windows 7 won't win back many Mac users doesn't mean it hasn't caught the attention of PC users in a big way.
Starting October 22nd, many people will start the process of upgrading from previous versions of Windows to Windows 7 RTM. After spending a long while with Windows 7 as my main OS since January 7th, I am excited about this major release that introduces many benefits to daily experiences on the PC at home and work. I want to take a look at installing Windows 7 and I will also be doing an Upgrade Story in a future post, just to get an idea of what its like. Let's get started!
