Dell Streak 10: One Body Design, Two OS Options

Dell may be recycling its tablet hardware design so that the same 10.1-inch Dell Streak 10 would be able to accommodate either Windows or Android 3.0 Honeycomb, depending on the slate version that consumers want. The internal guts may change–as Dell may prefer to standardize its Android offerings on an ARM-based CPU design while using an Intel CPU for its Windows slate, though that’s unclear.

The Streak 10 would be Dell’s third consumer tablet in the Streak line. After Dell had released the Dell Streak, or Dell Streak 5, for AT&T, a 5-inch slate that offers hybrid smartphone and tablet functionality, the hardware-maker also introduced a larger data-only Dell Streak 7 for T-Mobile USA, which had received mixed reviews. The Dell Streak 10–Android and Windows edition–would count as Dell’s third and fourth consumer tablet if you count that device twice.
