CES Unveiled- Initial thoughts

CES_Unveiled_eventThe Notebooks.com crew attended the first official event of CES last night called CES Unveiled.  CES Unveiled is an event for the press to showcase the new products for 2010.  To quote the CES web site,

“Get to CES early to uncover the top tech newsmakers. Be the first to see the New Year’s products at CES Unveiled. Media, analysts and bloggers can get a pre-show look at who will be making news headlines at CES Unveiled. Catch all the latest products in one room. Plus, get a sneak peek at International CES product debuts and the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase honorees — before the show officially opens.”

Its what CES is going to be like, except on a much smaller scale.

The room was packed last night with every type of media (TV, radio, newspaper, blogger, etc) all vying to get close to the exhibitors to see, talk, question and record all they had to offer.  All of this, food and drink, and a really nice jazz band, all so we can see what is coming up over the next few days.

Some booths were slammed, like Lenovo and MSI where you couldnt even get close. Why?  Lenovo came with their new Lenovo Slate (which we will be covering later) laptop/internet tablet. MSI showed their new line up Wind notebooks featuring the Pine Trail processors(more information to come).

Other booths like Saygus with their new Vphone and Entourage with their eDGe device were also crowded.

If last night was any barometer of the week to come, its going to be a fun, interesting, crazy, exciting and gadget crazy few days.
