Today Acer announced an update to the ultraportable Acer TimelineX 1830T 11.6″ notebook. The new update provides users who need a powerful and portable notebook a new option thanks to the inclusion of an Intel Core i7 ULV processor with TurboBoost and a pricetag of $899.
The new The Aspire TimelineX 1830T-68U118 comes with a 1.46GHz Intel Core i7 processor that can scale up to 2.53Ghz when needed and weights just over 3 pounds. The small notebook measures 11.22 (w) x 8.03 (d) x1.01-1.10 (h) inches and comes with BlueTooth, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
Acer claims that the new Core i7 powered Acer TimelineX 1830T will be able to last all day, 8-hours, with the standard battery. While you may need to discount that by 25-30% under normal use, 5-6 hours wouldn’t be too bad for the power under the hood.
If you don’t need all that power, but still want a portable Acer notebook you can pick up the Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830T in other models that include a Core i3 or Core i5 ULV processor and start at $599.99.
The prospect of having this much power in a small package for $899 is exciting and is an ultraportable we’ll be keeping a close eye on.
