Verizon to Establish Discussion Communities

Verizon has just announced that new dedicated communities will be added to Verizon and Verizon Wireless websites. The goal of these communities is to create a space where Verizon customers can discuss products and services.

Though new to Verizon, discussion communities are anything but new to many companies throughout the world. Discussion communities offer a place for customers to go for personalized support from other community members, as well as a place to catch up on the latest products and company news. It has proven to be a contributing factor to customer satisfaction. For example, partially due to Apple’s large discussion community, Laptop MAGAZINE gave the company an “A” rating in their 2010 Tech Support Showdown.

Verizon details its forthcoming service:

“By creating dedicated communities, each community will have additional space to offer you more content and functionality. We can offer you new categories and bring in new subject matter or break up existing content into more specific subjects for you to reference more easily. At the same time, the communities will only be a “click” away from each other.” – Verizon E-mail Notification

Verizon and Verizon Wireless’s discussion communities will be launched in the next few days. To participate in discussions, all you will need to do is sign in with your My Verizon User ID. Check the Verizon and Verizon Wireless websites in the next few days for the official launch of the company’s discussion communities.
