Acer is going to release a new Acer Aspire One 521 netbook with an AMD V105 processor instead of the typical Intel Atom. It will be clocked at 1.2GHz and have 512KB of L2 cache. Coming along for the ride on this new netbook will be DDR3 memory and the AMD M 880G chipset. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics with 384MB of dedicated video memory will power the 10.1 inch display.
Acer has not officially announced this model yet, but the folks at Macles have it from sources that it will become official sometime in May.
Acer has already produced AMD based notebooks made with the mobility in mind. The Acer Ferari One also has AMD inside its 11.6 in model. Of course ,its an Athlon X2 dual core instead of this forthcoming model’s single core.
