Logitech and Skype team Up for High Quality Video Calls

Skype Logitech Skype and Logitech are rolling out a new standard to offer smoother and clearer video chat. Using one of Logitech’s high-end webcams, such as the QuickCam Pro for Notebooks, Logitech’s latest software and Skype 3.6 for Windows yield VGA quality video conferencing at 30fps.

âہ“This is a major leap in the clarity and smoothness of free video calls over the Internet,â€Â said Gareth Oâ€ËÅLoughlin, Skypeâ€â„¢s general manager, mobile and hardware devices. âہ“High Quality Video is a tremendous opportunity to delight our more than 246 million users and take their Skype experience to a whole new level. One in four Skype calls already involve video, so we know our users love to show and not just tell. High Quality Video will take Skype conversations to a whole new level of realism. In the past, only big businesses could afford this kind of video quality. Itâ€â„¢s now time to take it to everyone else.â€Â

Skype video calls are free, but users on both ends of video calls will need solid broadband connections and dual-core computers.
