Buy a Mac, get a free iPod Touch is Back

Apple’s Back to School campaign is back! That means if you are purchasing a Mac for school, or for your child who is in school, you can get a free 8GB iPod touch. The deal runs now through September 7th 2010, and can be combined with the educational pricing making this combo an even better deal.

The Apple Back to School sale is valid on the MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac computers. The deal is not good on the Mac Mini.

The Buy a Mac, get an iPod Touch free deal is open to;

  • Current Higher Ed students
  • Teachers, faculty and staff at Higher Ed and K-12 institutions.
  • And parents of students, or students to be enrolled this fall.

The entry level price starts at $949 with the base MacBook. The free iPod is after rebate; so you’ll need to pay for it up front. The iPod Touch must be purchased at the same time as the Mac to qualify for a rebate and there is a limit of 5 rebates per household.

It’s not just the iPod Touch that can be had free after rebate, you can also choose one of the following models.

  • iPod touch: $199
  • iPod classic 160 GB: $199
  • iPod nano 16 GB: $179
  • iPod nano 8 GB: $149
  • iPod shuffle 4 GB (stainless steel): $99
  • iPod shuffle 4 GB: $79

Even if you don’t need an iPod Touch, the deal is worth taking advantage of and selling the iPod Touch on eBay at a later date to get an extra $200 off your purchase price.

You may want to wait until the Apple WWDC event on June 7th when Apple will announce the new iPhone and possibly new iPod updates.
