I caught up with Ravi Sood, of HP's gaming division. Ravi's brother founded VooDooPC in 1991 to make performance PCs and sold the company in late 2006 to HP.

Chris from Alienware showed me the new Area 51 m15x gaming and multimedia notebook. It's the only 15.4-inch notebook with Intel Core 2 Extreme processor and NVIDIA 8800M GTX graphics card. The Area 51 m15x has a media bay that can handle a second hard drive, for up to 640GB of storage. There's an optional Blu-ray drive if you want to enjoy movies at full 1080p goodness.
Dell's teamed up with Blizzard to build two special edition World of Warcraft notebooks. Both the Horde and Alliance WoW make the perfect Christmas gift for anyone that's really into the game. They feature custom designs and beefier specs than standard XPS M1730s. The Dell World of Warcraft notebooks come with a ton of goodies including a WoW backpack, Blizzard Beta Club Card and a figurine of your WoW character.
Some high-end notebooks will soon be available with its highest performing mobile GPUs- the 880M GTX and 8800M GTS. NVIDIA claims the 8800M GTX is the fastest notebook GPU and can deliver the best gaming experience for hardcore gamers.
Alienware is getting ready to launch the Area-51 m15x and Area-51 m17x gaming notebooks. The Area-51 m17x is the most advance Alienware has built so far, according to the company. It can easily handle the latest DirectX 10 games in full 1080p high-def glory.
HP introduced the Voodoo ENVY M:152 notebook for multimedia enthusiasts and gamers. The ENVY M:152 replaces the M:151 as Voodoo's 15.4-inch luxury notebook. The M:152 is highly customizable, with 22 colors to chose from.
Toshiba's added NVIDIA SLI technology to its X205 gaming notebook series. The new Satellite X205 will be available in two models- the Satellite X205-SLi1 and the Satellite X205-SLi3. Both models feature dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPUs and are compatible with Microsoft DirectX 10.
Dell's new XPS M1730 is now available on Dell's XPS shopping page. The XPS M1730 is 17-inch high-performance gaming notebook that's sure to impress power hungry gamers, but for now it's only available in a single configuration for $2,999. Beefier versions of the XPS M1730, and build-to-order options should be available soon.
SUS announced its F8 notebook series, manufactured with the company's Infusion technology a manufacturing process used to inlay the case's surfaces into the chassis. ASUS says this process will make the F8 more durable. This 14.1-inch widescreen notebook features a built-in TV tuner, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and either the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (512MB VRAM) or NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics (256MB VRAM) GPU.
VoodooPC introduced the ENVY H:171 17-inch widescreen gaming notebook today. The ENVY H:171 is the first notebook to include the Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor, Dual NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 graphics processing unit up to 600GB in drive capacity.
