DeviceVM is launching SplashTop a platform that makes it possible to start up your computer and begin browsing the web or make a Skype call within five seconds. SplashTop , which is embedded within a motherboard and runs off of flash memory, may be available in notebooks as early as next year.

SUS announced its F8 notebook series, manufactured with the company's Infusion technology a manufacturing process used to inlay the case's surfaces into the chassis. ASUS says this process will make the F8 more durable. This 14.1-inch widescreen notebook features a built-in TV tuner, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and either the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (512MB VRAM) or NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics (256MB VRAM) GPU.
