iPad 2: Last Minute Rumor Roundup – CPU Bump, Thunderbolt, Magnetic Sensor & Delayed Availability

The Apple iPad 2 event is set to start in a little more than an hour and already we see the Apple Store has gone down until the event wraps up. Additionally, we are seeing a few last-minute iPad 2 rumors which merit a look before the event kicks off at 10 AM PST/1PM EST.

Last Minute iPad 2 Rumors:

  • New ipad 2 mockups surface, reporting to show a final look at the iPad 2 ahead of the actual announcement.
  • Amazon Germany reportedly listed an Apple iPad 2 with a 1.2GHz processor, camera and Thunderbolt connector, but the page is now down.
  • The iPad 2 may have a magnetic proximity sensor that can turn the device on and off when in a folio case.
  • Other rumors point to a delayed availability, or at least for availability of large quantities.
