iRest Lap Stand for iPad at MacWorld Expo 2011

Rain Design introduced the iRest Lap Stand at MacWorld Expo 2011. The stand has two padded cross bars, including one that is long enough to reach both of your legs while seated. The result is users can use their iPads on their laps without performing a sort of balancing act. With the iRest Lap Stand, the iPad can be used hands free in either portrait or landscape mode.

The device weighs less than a pound and can fold flat when not in use. It’s not the most portable iPad accessory, but it will make it easier to lounge with an iPad on a couch.

Rain Design is showcasing the iRest Lap Stand at MacWorld 2011, where it’s available for $49.90. The company will be selling it online and through retailers in the near future.
