HP Hopes to Ship 45-48 Million Notebooks in 2011

Don’t count out the humble notebook yet, HP plans to ship 45-48 million notebooks in 2011 according to Digitimes which cites Taiwanese manufacturers as the source for HP’s lofty goals. In 2010 HP shipped over 39 Million units, with 10 million moving in the fourth quarter.

While some of the increase will likely come from the notebooks and netbooks sold by HP, the source does point out that this total includes products like the soon to be announced HP webOS tablet and other windows tablets.

It will be interesting to look back in a year and see if HP was able to pull off the increase.
