Verizon Adds 4G Notebooks and Netbooks to its Lineup

Verizon announced a collection of new 4G LTE devices at CES 2011 including new 4G notebooks and netbooks. The new devices include the AMD Fusion powered HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr and the Intel Atom powered 10.1″ Compaq CQ10-688nr netbook.

Both of these devices will ship with a built in 4G modem that can connect to the new Verizon 4G LTE network which is live in select markets. They can also be used on Verizon 3G in areas without 4G connectivity.

  • Compaq CQ10-688nr – 10.1-inch diagonal anti-glare widescreen LED display, Intel® Atom N455 processor, up to 8.5 hours of battery life, multi-format digital media card reader, webcam and multiple connectivity options.
  • HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr – 11.6-inches, HP CoolSense Technology, HD 1080p, VISION Technology from AMD, up to 10.75 hours of battery life, 320 GB of storage, full-size, island-style keyboard, multi-format digital media card reader, HDMI port, Dolby Advanced Audio and GPS for mapping and navigation.

The Verizon 4G LTE network is capable of download speeds in the 5-12Mbps range and upload speeds in the 2-5Mbps range.
