iOS 4.2 Update for iPad and iPhone Actually Coming Next Tuesday

Sad news for anyone who woke up this morning hoping to find an update to iOS 4.2 waiting for them when they opened iTunes. Despite the update to Mac OS X 10.6.5 that was necessary for AirPrint in iOS 4.2 to work coming out on schedule, iPhoneHellas is reporting that the iOS 4.2 update for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, that was rumored to be released today, won’t come out until next Tuesday.

The new information comes via iPhoneHellas which, according to MacRumors, has been eerily accurate at predicting iOS updates in the past, nailing one 10 days ahead of time and the release of iOS 4.0 hours before it actually went live.

The new software, iOS 4.2 will finally bring the iPad and the iPhone together on the same software. iOS 4.2 will bring AirPrint for printing on the go, Game Central for online gaming support built in by Apple and will finally bring folders and multitasking to the iPad.
