Apple Removes White iPhone 4 From Store

Apple has removed the white iPhone 4 completely from its online store. This update came soon after BoyGeniusReports cited a source that said Apple has no plans to release the white iPhone 4.

Apple has been pushing back the white iPhone 4’s release again and again. However, due to Apple’s recent update to its online store, it looks as though the model has been completely scraped. Previously, the white iPhone 4 appeared with a message saying “Not Available”. Now, the only iPhone models that remain are the black iPhone 3GS (8GB) and the black iPhone 4 (16GB or 32GB). However, Apple has yet to remove pictures of the white iPhone 4 from the photo gallery.

Why may Apple be getting rid of this popular model before its actual release? BGR’s source claims that another “delay’ will most likely be announced sometime in March, which is getting close to a possible iPhone 5 release in June or July. Manufacturing issues have been citied by Apple as the reason for the delays. Previously, Apple has stated,

“White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

It may be that these manufacturing difficulties are just to difficult to circumvent, which is a shame because the white iPhone 4 added some much-needed variety to Apple’s iPhone line-up. It’s possible that it may appear once again, but as for now, it looks like the white iPhone 4 is no more.
