HP recently updated the company’s business class netbook, the HP Mini 5103 to work with the new dual core Intel Atom N550 processors. The upgrade which added a few new features to the Mini 5012, which we recently reviewed, doesn’t contain many cosmetic changes, sticking with the duracoat keys, metal body and other features that add up for a durable and usable netbook.
One new cosmetic change is the addition of the espresso brown color we have in for review. Our review HP Mini 5103 is not equipped with a dual core N550, but it does include a touchscreen which we are looking forward to testing out in the netbook form factor.
One of the things we wish would have seen an upgrade is the trackpad which remains fairly small. Even though there’s not a whole lot of room a larger mousing surface, like that found on the Mini 210, would have been a welcome addition.
The HP Mini 5103 starts at $399 and climbs based on options like a touchscreen, dual core processor and optional handle.
