Roku Intros New HD Media Players, Brings 1080p Online Video to TVs

Roku announced three new and improved media players that stream online video, music and more to TVs. Starting at $59.99, all three models provide quick access to services such as Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, MLB.TV, Pandora, Facebook and many other free and premium services.

Until recently, the standard Roku player cost $100. The new entry-level Roku HD is now $59.99 and streams video at up to 720p. The Roku XD ($79.99) and Roku XDS ($99.99) are capable of streaming video at 1080p resolution, the maximum for current HDTVs. The Roku XDS model has dual-band Wireless-N wireless, component video output, optical audio output, and a a USB port that can be used to attach a hard drive with your own media files. Both the Roku XD and Roku XDS models have an instant replay function, allowing the user to skip back in seven-second increments, providing DVR-like controls. The two more expensive models come with a premium remote.

These new Roku players are the most affordable way to enjoy Netflix, Amazon videos and 1080p online content on your HDTV. Roku media players are very easy to setup and use, enabling even the most novice technology users to enjoy online content on their TVs.
