Splashtop Getting More Flexible, Useful

Device VM’s announced today that its upcoming version of Splashtop is MeeGo compliant and can be customized by consumers. Previous versions of thhe quick-boot environment are currently available in Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, and Sony netbooks and notebooks. The new version of Splashtop will work with Intel’s AppUp store, allowing consumers to easily add games and applications that they can access without booting into Windows.

Dave Bottoms, Device VM’s senior director of products, showed us the new version of Splashtop running on an Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t.

Splashtop Remote can be used from the quick-boot environment to control remote PCs, including more powerful Windows desktops and notebooks.

The latest version of Splashtop is shipping to OEMs and will be available to consumers soon. In 2011, consumers will be able to upgrade their netbooks and notebooks to the latest version. Splashtop is customized by each PC manufacturer so it will look slightly different than what’s shown in the video above.
