Dell Inspiron Duo: An Interesting Tablet/Netbook Combo

At the Intel Developer’s Conference, Dell showed off an unusual hybrid device that is both a netbook and a tablet device. According to our publisher Xavier Lanier who was on hand for the announcement and posted about the Dell Inspiron Duo over at GottaBeMobilethe device was presented first as a tablet with a lot of sighs from the crowd jaded by all the tablets being announced. But then the device was morphed into a netbook computer by opening the keyboard on the back and then swiveling the screen like a water wheel inside the enclosure resulting in something very unique and exciting.

The device is powered by an Intel dual-core Atom N550 processor and is running Windows 7 Premium, although the videos and pictures show it with some kind of overlay application launcher.

When asked when it would be out Dell said, “It will be available later this year.”
