ASUS Launches Custom Colored Eee PC 1001PQ Netbooks

ASUS recently launched the Eee PC 1001PQ. What makes this new netbook unique can’t be found in the specifications, but rather the exterior design.

The ASUS Eee PC 1001PQ will be available in “Flame Purple” and “Vibrant Gold”. Both color options come with colored stickers, allowing for further customization. Aside from the color and customization options, the netbook is designed after seashells, providing sleek curves and smooth lines.

Though this is a fully functional netbook, ASUS seems to be pushing the Eee PC 1001PQ towards children. ASUS claims the stickers are supposed to allow “pre-adolescents to express themselves and their personality.” Additionally, ASUS included a preteen-friendly interface, called the Inspirus Desktop. This interface is composed of large icons, making it easy for children to surf the internet and play games. This in cohorts with the Kid-Friendly Browser and Parental-Control Access keeps children safe from the dangers of the Internet.
