Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 Unveiled With Improved Accuracy and Speed

Nuance Communications recently announced a new version of it Dragon NaturallySpeaking software. Version 11 includes smarter speech recognition, allowing the user to, “spend more of their energy working and creating, rather than clicking and typing.”

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 is a voice recognition software tool. It allows users to create documents, send emails, surf the Web, and even search Facebook and Twitter, at nearly three times faster than typing, according to Nuance Communications. The new version includes netbook optimization while complimenting the company’s mobile apps for the BlackBerry, iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 adds many new features and improvements to its previous version. It boasts a 15% improvement in accuracy, as well improved speed in speech recognition.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 also includes time-saving voice commands and shortcuts. For example, to begin an email, simply say “Send an email to John Smith”. Your email client will launch and a new email will pop up addressed to John Smith. You can also search for items using Amazon, Twitter, maps, as well as many other websites. Essentially, your entire computer can be controlled using nothing but your voice.

The new version includes a new Dragon Sidebar, which displays commands and tips, ensuring that the user takes advantage of all of the new features found in Version 11.

What happens if you make a mistake in typing or want to format the text that you have spoken? Any corrections you make, via keyboard or speech, are automatically used to teach Dragon NaturallySpeaking  not to make the same mistake again. Also, if you would like to bold a specific section of text, just say “Bold” followed by whatever phrase you wish to bold.

Don’t have a computer at a business meeting and want to have a typed version of the meeting’s minutes? Record the meeting using a digital recorder or recording application on a mobile device. Once loaded onto your computer, Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 can transcribe the audio for you.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Version 11 is compatible with a large assortment of applications. It is compatible with “Microsoft Office 2010 applications and Full Text Control, Menu Tracking, and Natural Language Commands are supported for Word 2010, Outlook 2010, and Excel 2010. Finally, Dragon 11 supports OpenOffice Writer with dictation, correction, selection, and playback.”
