Acer has two new multimedia notebooks to announce – the Acer Aspire AS5745 and AS7745. These are thin and light notebooks designed primarily for entertainment with plenty of powerful options.
The AS5745 series is a 15.6-inch HD notebook with a 1366×768 resolution. It can be configured with a touch screen display on some models including the AS5745PG. Other options for the AS5745 include any of the three Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors and discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics with 1GB of dedicated memory.
The version with the touch screen (the AS5745PG) starts at $899.99. The AS5745G is going to start at $1,049.
The AS7745 has a 17.3-inch screen with a 1600×900 resolution display. This larger notebook also has a Blu-ray drive option, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics and a some models will come with a second hard drive. The Aspire 7745 is powered by a new Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor and you can pack up to 16GB of memory into these machines. The AS7745G starts at $1,399.
Both the AS5745 and the AS7745 include Dolby Home Theater v3 and digital out ports, 1.3 megapixel webcams, Bluetooth and full-size keyboards with a keypad.
