The App Store: HTML 5 is Apple’s open App store, similar to the ability to install any app on Android devices. Apple curates the App Store which has over 225,000 apps and where they curate over 15,000 apps a week in 30 different languages.

95% of apps are approved in 7 days. Those that aren’t are usually not approved because; they don’t perform as advertised, private API’s are used (which could break when the iPhone operating system is upgraded) and apps that crash. More Apple App store stats.
