Dell M4500 Mobile Workstation

After doing a preview in March, Dell has released their new Dell M4500 Mobile Workstation for sale on the Dell web site.

For a starting price of $1,549 for the base model, the M4500 comes with an Intel Core i5-520M dual-core processor, 15.6-inch LED-backlit display, and a 1GB Nvidia Quadro FX 880M graphics card.  While this is impressive, the rest of the base specifications are just standard,  2GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive.  There is no built in Wi-Fi with the standard model. For an additional $15, a WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n card can be added. If consumers want to upgrade their Dell, there is the option to add up to 8GB of RAM, a pair of 500GB hard drives, and a Blu-ray burner (the latter only a $546 extra). There is also a processor upgrade to a quad-core processors even an i7-920XM Extreme Edition for $850.

For all the videophiles and heavy graphics consumers, the Dell M4500 has the option to upgrade to a  Quadro FX 1800M video card for $265 and a 1,920×1,080 display for $129.
