Apple Posts Christmas Shipping Cutoff Calendar

It’s not too late to order an a MacBook or MacBook Pro in time to sneak it under the Christmas tree. It’s too late to order custom-configured Macs for Christmas, but Apple has several popular configurations that will make it to your door by Christmas eve.

The MacBook Pro will be delivered by Christmas with standard shipping as long as you order by Wed. 12/19. If you’re willing to pay for overnight shipping you can order as late as 12/21.

The MacBook Pro can be delivered in time for Christmas in these configurations:

1)15.4-inch, 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 120GB hard drive, Superdrive for $1,999
-The standard configuration includes a matte (non-glossy) display. If you prefer a glossy display, be sure to chose the Glossy Display from popular configurations.
-An upgrade to a 160GB (7200RPM) hard drive brings the total to $2,074.
-An upgrade to 4GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive is $2,774.
2)15.4-inch, 2.4GHz, 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, Superdrive for $2,499
-Same computer, with a 200GB (7200RPM) hard drive is $2,699
-Adding 4GB of RAM and the 200GB hard drive brings te total to $3,399

The two standard white and black MacBooks are available in their standard configuration and prices, or with memory and hard drive upgrades. If you order by 12/19 you can get your MacBook in time for Christmas with standard shipping. You can order as late as 12/21 if you pay for overnight shipping.

The most basic configuration is the white MacBook for $1,099. It includes 1GB of memory, an 80GB hard drive, 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and DVD/CD-RW combo drive. An upgrade to a 120GB will bring the total to $1,174.

I recommend the more advanced white MacBook for $1,299. It comes with a Superdrive (DVD burner), 2.2GHz processor, 1GB of memory and 120GB hard drive. An upgrade to a 160GB hard drive is an extra $75, with a 2GB memory upgrade adding $150. As always, we recommend buying memory separately and installing it yourself. This can save you about $100 in this case.

If you want to gift wrap an iPod or iPhone, you need to order it by 12/18 to avoid having to pay for overnight shipping.
