Dell’s added a 32GB Solid State Drive to the list of drive options for its Latitude 420 and rugged Latitude ATG notebooks. The solid state drive will cost a whopping $549 more than the Latitude 420’s standard 30GB standard hard disk drive, or $620 more than the ATG’s standard 80GB hard drive.
While these prices might seem outrageous for most users, there are several applications where speed and reliability are more important than massive storage capacities. Solid State Drives have no moving parts, run cool and increase battery life.
