Wireless USB, Coming Soon to Notebooks

It wasn’t that long ago that if you wanted to access the web with your notebook it was time to pull out an Ethernet or phone cable. In a few short years we’ll start to see the end of USB cables.

Mike Krell of Alereon, a company that makes a wireless USB chipset, talks to notebooks.com about the future of wireless USB. By summertime, you’ll be able to order your notebook with a wireless USB card. By next Christmas he predicts that wireless USB enabled printers and scanners will be readily available. Mike demonstrated a Kodak digital camera wirelessly transmitting photos to a UMPC.
