These tech gifts for Father’s Day 2011 aren’t just for geeks. We have all types of consumer electronics, thumb drives, eBook readers, tablets, smartphones and more that are sure to impress.

21 Awesome Tech Gift Ideas for Dad

If you order within the next week most of these gifts will arrive in time for Father’s Day 2011 which is on Sunday June 19th.

Verbatim Tuff N Tiny USB Flash Drive – $10 and up

The Verbatim Tuff N Tiny USB Flash Drive has become our go to drive for two reasons. It is tough and as you can guess, it is tiny. We have it attached to the our key ring and so it is always there. Because of its size we barely notice it. Because of how tough it is we don’t worry about breaking it. We tested this drive and really beat it up. Our data was safe despite dunking it in water, stomping on it, and plunging into dirt. The drives start at $22 for a 2GB model and range on up to $158 for the 32GB model. But you can find them cheaper on Amazon.

Mimobots – $22 and up

If you are looking for a thumbdrive that shows off dad’s love for comics or science fiction, then you need to check out the licensed Mimibot thumb drives. These incredibly detailed drives don’t just carry your documents, they show off your geeky side with licences from Star Wars, Marvel and more.

We’ve been using several of these drives over the past few weeks and everyone we show them to loves the fun look of the Mimobots. The drives look as good in person as they do on the Mimibot website and with a large collection of characters you have a good chance at finding dad’s favorite comic book hero. The backside of the drive is flat enough we could use it with the MacBook Air, which sits close to a table, but if you are trying to plug into the recessed ports on some desktops you may have trouble.

iPhone, Android & iPad Protection – $30 and up

Some of our favorite cases for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices come from Speck and OtterBox. These two companies offer a range of solutions for multiple Android devices and the every popular iPhone. Speck offers a collection of colorful and fun cases mainly focused on Apple products, offering all types of looks and protection.

OtterBox on the other hand is known for their incredible protection for devices including drop protection. For fathers who work in construction, like to go outdoors or are just rough with their phones, an OtterBox case is the perfect gift.

ScotteVest Travel Vests and Jackets – $25 and up

It wouldn’t be a Father’s Day gift guide without ScotteVest travel vests, jackets and shirts. We’ve been big fans of the ScotteVest gear for a while now because it allows dad to carry all of his gear from cameras to the iPad without looking like a dork. Seriously, the pockets in these devices will accommodate all types of gear for around town or heading off on an adventure.

ScotteVest is having a Father’s Day sale right now, that allows you to get jackets, hoodies and shirts at 30% off. The standard ScotteVest Travel vest isn’t on sale, but is well worth the $100 price tag.

LightScoop – $30

If Dad is a shutterbug, the Lightscoop is a great choice. This handy little DSLR accessory will snap on to his camera and bounce the flash off the ceiling or the wall for better photos. Rather than washing out the image or delivering a deer in the headlights look, the Lightscoop bounces the photos off your surroundings for better lighting.

The Lightscoop is probably a better fit for budding photographer dads, rather than a pro photographer who likely has a full lightbox and studio setup on hand.

Eye Fi – $49.99 and up

Another good Father’s Day gift is the Eye-Fi X2 SD card which connects to wireless networks and iPhone or Android devices to upload your photos to your computer and to the web without any wires.

We really like the ability to upload our photos automatically to our computer and to the Eye Fi Center which allows us to share them with family members on the iPad rather than the small screen of our camera. Dad can choose to selectively upload photos to Facebook and many other websites to automatically share. We like the control, which keeps unwanted photos from going public. Check out our Eye Fi Review.

WetCiruits 4 Outlet Water Resistant Rugged Power Strip – $70

This is not an ordinary power outlet. Sure it is a little expensive but how many power strips from WalMart will withstand pouring water into them or having Junior stick a pair of metal tweezers in one of the outlets and survive without even a shock? With the WetCircuits power strip pouring water on it while it is plugged in and in use has no effect. The water is kept out of the actual circuit. Putting a set of tweezers down into the outlet will not shock anyone. We know because we tested it. Check out the video below.

This thing is great for plugging in a number of things like a laptop, a video projector, and your cell phone while you are working at a table with people drinking coffee or while outdoors at a beach or park.

Razer Orochi Bluetooth Laser Mouse – $79.99

There might be a better mobile mouse out there, but after testing a bunch of Bluetooth mobile mice, we don’t think there is a better Bluetooth mobile mouse available. Designed primarily for gamers in mind, this mouse is also great as an everyday mouse. In fact, we use it that way with the notebooks we use most o the time. You can view our full review and video and decide for yourself. Dad will love this mouse whether he’s a gamer or not.

Cadence 4-bit Binary Watch – $90

This is less a tech gift and more a gift for a techie. If your dad is a geek he will love this binary watch. From a distance it looks like any casual analog watch. Up close you realize that instead of Latin or Roman numerals each hour is represented by a four digit binary number.

Fitbit – $99

If dad is a data geek, tracking and analyzing anything he can put into a number, he may like the fitbit. This small device clips onto his pocket or belt and tracks steps, miles walked, activity, calories burned and can even track his sleep habits. The fitbit is $99 and includes access to the fitbit website for tracking fitbit stats and can log eating habits(he’ll have to do this manually though). If he wants to go deeper into the data and gain comparisons to other people in his age group he can upgrade to the premium account for $49 a year.

We’ve been using a fitbit for the past few weeks and we really like that the fitbit can handle being worn day to day at the office, in the yard or out on a long walk without any worries of it falling off or breaking. The fitbit battery lasts a whole week and uploads data to the fitbit website whenever you get within 15 feet of the base station which is attached to your computer. The fitbit isn’t waterproof, but it can handle being washed off and reportedly can survive a drop into the toilet. Below you’ll see just a snippet of the data fitbit records.

One of our favorite uses has been to monitor our sleep habits. With the included armband dad can wear the fitbit while you sleep and it will monitor how often he wakes up and moves during the night.

Booq Bag Computer Backpack – Starting at $129.95

We think Booq makes some nice computer bags and backpacks. They have almost any style you prefer, but we like the backpack style the best. The Boa Squeeze is their least expensive backpack bag. They sell sizes that fit anything from a 13″ up to a 17″ computer. They offer great protection and will look cool doing it. Dad will be very happy with this bag or any of the other styles. Maybe he likes a something more like a messenger bag with a flap, a simple sleeve, or a briefcase style bag. They have them all. We also like the Cobra Courier which is a messenger style bag with a sleeve to protect your notebook. It comes it at $195.

Plantronics Voyager Pro UC 2 Bluetooth Headset – $199

Bluetooth headsets are for the most part poor performers when you actually start to use them, but not the Plantronics Voyager Por UC 2. This headset is the smartest Bluetooth headset we have ever used and the only one we have stuck with for more than a few weeks. It’s so good, we gave it an Editor’s Choice award at GottaBeMobile.com.

The reason we love this bluetooth headset so much is that it is smart enough to know when you want to use it and when you don’t. With a normal Bluetooth headset, audio will be sent to the headset even if it is in your bag or out in the car. The Plantronics Voyager Pro UC 2 knows when you have it on your ear and when you don’t, allowing it to route the audio to the right place. The headset will even auto answer calls when you put it on your ear. This model includes a Bluetooth adapter so that you can use it with your PC or Mac as well.

Android Phone – Various Prices

As popular as the iPhone is, we think an Android phone might be a nice way to reward dad this year. They are easy to use and have a lot of powerful features. Recommending just one is hard since not all phones are available with all carriers. So here are our recommendations for the carrier that old dad is using. These come from our sister site’s list of the top 5 phones for May 2011.

LG G2x – T-Mobile – $200

It has a fantastic 4-inch LCD display, HSPA+ 4G speeds and it has the ability to capture 1080p which is something most top of the line smartphones aren’t able to do.

HTC Droid Incredible 2 – Verizon – $80

We recently previewed the HTC Droid Incredible 2, the successor of the wildly popular Droid Incredible, and came away very impressed. The increase in display size from 3.7 to 4-inches works well and doesn’t add any additional bulk.

Its single-core 1GHz processor is quick and it comes with almost an identical form factor to the original Droid Incredible. Add in all the other bells and whistles and you have yourself a fantastic 3G phone.

Motorola Atrix 4G – AT&T – $99

The Motorola Atrix is the flagship Android device on AT&T and like the G2x, it can be considered a superphone because of the fantastic specifications it has on board. It packs a high-resolution display, dual-core processor and a massive battery to boot.

HTC Thunderbolt – Verizon – $249

The ThunderBolt is essentially an HTC EVO with 4G LTE speeds, which as you’ll see in a second, isn’t a bad thing whatsoever. The hardware is solid, the software as well and with an upgrade to Gingerbread coming in the not-so-distant future, the ThunderBolt is worthy of this list.

Amazon Kindle eBook Reader – $114, $139, or $189

There are a number of good eBook readers available, but the best one for the simple task of reading books is still the Kindle. The iPad is the premium do-it-all device. The Nook Color wants to be. But if all you want is an eBook reader cheap, the ad-supported Kindle is the best option. It is only $114 and the ads are not that intrusive. It requires a Wi-Fi signal to shop, download books, and sync things like bookmarks, highlights or notes, but can be read anywhere.

HP dm1z Notebook Computer – $449

Not quite a netbook, the diminutive HP dm1z series of notebooks is a great choice for an ultra-portable budget notebook for the mobile dad who needs a business notebook that can handle almost any basic task you throw at it. More powerful than a little netbook, he will be more happy too. It is an 11.6″ system with a dual-core AMD Fusion processor. The AMD Radeon 6310 graphics makes this little system a lot more powerful than you would think. The 1366×768 display makes it 720p HD capable, great for watching HD videos downloaded from one of the various video buying or rental sites. For an extra $129 you can get dad an external Blu-ray drive too. HP promises 9.5 hours from the battery. If you only get the typical two-thirds of the promised battery life that it still around 6 hours. It has VGA and HDMI output for presentations or hooking up to a TV.

Apple iPad 2 – $499 – $829

This is likely one of the number one requested tech gifts this Father’s Day. It is still the standard for tablet devices despite all that people are trying to do to unseat it with Android-based devices. The huge app ecosystem and accessories market make it the number one device. It is dead simple to use and one of the most versatile computing devices ever made.

Our sister site did a very comprehensive iPad 2 review if you want to read up before taking this big a plunge. Just know that if you can afford it, dad will be extremely happy with you. We suggest a sweet spot of 32GB with 3G if you can afford it. That model is $729. Take one step back and go with the 32GB wi-fi only model for $599 if possible.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 – $1399

Not officially ready till May 24, this business class notebook is one of the nicest we’ve seen this year. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 was give the editor’s choice award by our editor, Josh Smith. He said:

The ThinkPad X1 shows a now look for Lenovo and includes a collection of features and design changes which exciting and new. Lenovo has been able to add to the ThinkPad features we love, like durability and an amazing keyboard, without compromising on why businesses choose to equip their employees with ThinkPads. The ThinkPad X1 shows that the company can adapt and bring consumer features like high-end audio and backlit keys to the traditional ThinkPad line. Lenovo may still need a bit more time to perfect the mousepad, but the ThinkPad X1 is without a doubt the best ThinkPad we have had a chance to use.

The ThinkPad X1 we looked at had a 2.5GHz 2nd generation Intel Core i5-520M processor. It also included 4GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive. The display is powered by Intel 3000 HD integrated graphics. The glossy 13.3″ screen is made with a gorilla glass wich makes it durable and particularly scratch resistant. The computer is 3.73 pounds and between .65″ and .84″ in thickness. The 6 cell battery gives you over four hours and the optional slice adds another four hours. Please read our comprehensive review for more detailed information.

This laptop mode allows you to work in a Firefox browser and to use your apps at the same time. The Webtop is a handy accessory, but at $499, you’d be better off purchasing a HP dm1z or a Lenovo X120e netbook to use when you need a “desktop” experience.

Thankfully, if you want to use the laptop mode on your Motorola Atrix 4G without spending a fortune on the Webtop or the official dock you’re in luck. Fenny, a developer at the xda-developers forum, posted a set of files you can install to turn on the laptop mode on your Atrix 4G without the Webtop. This means that you can plug in any display to the HDMI connection on the Atrix 4G and use the smartphone as you would a notebook.

Once you install the files, which can be done without rooting your phone, you only need a HDMI cable to get started. This may not be as handy as a Webtop, but if you want to connect to a monitor or HDTV in a hotel, you can now use the desktop like experience without paying for an expensive dock.

If you want to make the most of this setup, we suggest getting a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse to connect to your Atrix 4G so that you don’t need to rely on the on screen keyboard.

Here is a Hands On Video of the Motorola Atrix 4G which gives you a closer look at the device:

Those reviews are positive, and note that Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the operating system that is built for tablets, presents a serious contender to Apple’s iOS on the iPad, but there are still glitches and problems with the UI, which is essentially is Google’s 1.0 version of Android for the tablet. Perhaps, the message to take away here, especially if you’re interested in a consumer-class tablet, you may be better holding off until after March 2nd, which is when Apple is slated to announce its second generation iPad, to make an informed decision on whether to go with the first version of a true Android tablet or a second generation iOS tablet product.

CrunchGear:

The site was overall impress with the tablet and the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb UI, noting that it was speedy and is a true competitor to the iPad. Unlike previous tablet attempts, like the Galaxy Tab, with Android, this OS is finally built and designed for the tablet user experience, rather than be scaled up from a smartphone OS: “The Xoom is an Android tablet, not an overgrown phone,” according to CrunchGear‘s reviewer.

It is the closest anyone has come to an iPad equivalent for the Android set. I was impressed with the speed, design, and quality of the device, and although there are a few caveats, I came away optimistic for the new crop of Honeycomb devices that will follow this one.

Now, for the bad. The site was concerned about compatibility of apps as there aren’t many–if any–apps at this time that’s been re-tooled for the tablet OS. Rather, most apps available on Android Market will be scaled to fit the device’s large screen, but won’t have the user experience of a large tablet.

The Xoom also isn’t yet for business users. I’d be concerned about Flash support as well as potential app incompatibility or instability.

Another issue of concern from that site is price–at $800 for a 3G, upgradeable for free to 4G LTE at a later date, contract-free tablet, the Xoom is a pricey device:

Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal, AllThingsD:

Often seen as reviewer who is pro-Apple, Mossberg’s positive comments at Google’s Android 3.0 and Motorola’s Xoom tablet seem to mark a great start for the infant tablet OS that powers the 10-inch iPad rival. Like other reviewers, though, Mossberg both praised the tablet while knocking off points in certain areas, perhaps due to Google’s inexperience with the tablet OS as this is the first device and the first iteration of Android that’s been built natively for the larger screen: “Both Motorola’s hardware and Google’s new software are impressive and, after testing it for about a week, I believe the Xoom beats the first-generation iPad in certain respects, though it lags in others.”

Again, big concerns here are price, availability of apps, and battery life:

The iPad has way more tablet-specific apps—around 60,000 versus a handful—and, in my tests, much better battery life… Unfortunately for consumers looking for iPad alternatives, the Xoom has an Achilles’ heel: price.

The Xoom, while being compatible in both portrait and landscape mode, is mainly designed as a landscape-oriented system, especially when you consider the front-facing camera’s placement. While the screen size is the same as the iPad, it is a bit more narrow and a bit more long–Motorola opted for a 16:9 aspect ratio to optimize the display for video viewing. This makes the tablet longer and heavier to hold in portrait mode:

I found it generally comfortable to hold, except when I was reading for long periods in vertical mode, where the long, thin shape and weight made it feel a bit unbalanced.

Mossberg seems to like the OS and UI, despite some of the described growing pains of a first-generation OS design. That said, he was disappointed that Adobe Flash 10.2 Mobile won’t be available at the device’s launch, though Adobe and Google will push out the browser plug-in at a later date post-launch.

Overall? “The Xoom and Honeycomb are a promising pair that should give the iPad its stiffest competition. But price will be an obstacle, and Apple isn’t standing still.”

Engadget:

Engadget’s detailed review seems to echo the same sentiments as those found on AllThingsD and MobileCrunch. Other issues that Engadget brought up deals with the speaker being muffled, the odd placement of the power button and the fact that the button sometimes got stuck, and the top-heavy weight of the tablet, especially when held in portrait mode.

On the software side, Engadget complains of the lack of availability of tablet-optimized apps, though I guess those will come soon as a plethora of Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets are expected to join the Xoom on the market. Additionally, the site says that some of the software efforts behind the Xoom feel unfinished: “One other big note: a lot of the new software feels like it isn’t quite out of beta (surprise surprise). We had our fair share of force closes and bizarre freezes, particularly in the Market app and Movie Studio. Most applications were fine, but there definitely some moments where we felt like the whole device was teetering on the brink of a total crash.”

Despite some of these issues, Engadget seems to like the Xoom, but the site wonders, “the problem with the Xoom isn’t really about the core of the experience or the core of the hardware — it’s about the details. Too much in both the design (like those wonky buttons) or the software (like the feeling that this is all very much in beta) makes you wonder if this wasn’t rushed out to market in order to beat the next wave from Apple.”

There are also additional reviews from CNET, MSNBC, and BGR.

Motorola Atrix 4G Reviews Roll In, Laptop Dock Fails to Impress is a post by Josh Smith from Notebooks.com.

At CES 2011 the Motorola Atrix 4G was one of the coolest things we saw, a powerful Android smartphone that could be placed into a Laptop dock for a larger screen experience complete with a full Firefox browser. The first reviews are starting to come in and so far the Motorola Atrix Laptop dock isn’t earning high marks from anyone.

The price of the Motorola Atrix Laptop dock is one of many factors that are causing reviewers to look down on the laptop dock. When the Motorola Atrix 4G is set to arrive on February 13th on AT&T for $200, but if you want the Laptop Dock you’ll need to pay $500 for the bundle and then an extra $20 a month to use the phone while it is connected to the laptop dock. Alternately you can purchase the dock later for $500.

Motorola Atrix 4G Demo from CES 2011

No matter which price you pay, you’re still paying netbook prices for a device that can only be used with your smartphone AND requires a second $20 a month charge. Not exactly something that will attract users and has led many to question how much ubiquitous connectivity is worth.

Aside from the actual cost of the Motorola Atrix 4G laptop dock, reviewers haven’t been impressed with the usefulness of the device.

Steve Kovach of Business Insider had the following to say in his review of the Motorola Atrix 4G;

The laptop dock feels like a waste. We can’t think of a single practical use for it. The $500 add on is essentially a shell with a keyboard and screen that must be docked with the Atrix in order to function. It feels like Motorola added it just to prove they could get a laptop to run off a phone’s hardware. As one of our colleagues put it: “It seems like they’re on to something, but aren’t there yet.”

Scott Stein of CNet’s Crave blog looked at how the Motorola Atrix 4G laptop dock compares to a laptop and came to the following conclusion;

So, who is this laptop dock for? It’s unclear right now, but probably no one you know. It’s undoubtedly fascinating technology and an eye-catching demonstration, but app support, a faster browsing experience, and a more competitive price are where phone/laptop hybrids need to go next. It’s a compelling concept, and one we’re certain to see revived in future smartphones. For now, I’d say skip the dock, but definitely check out the Atrix Phone

Both reviewers were impressed with the actual Atrix 4G phone, but it looks like until the next generation you will be better off picking up a capable netbook instead of a Motorola Atrix 4G laptop dock. You can certainly find a netbook at a better price!

First up, the biggest hype award may go to Motorola for taking a shot at the iconic Apple “1984″ ad with a spot for the Xoom Tablet. While the Xoom ad did a good job of poking fun at Apple, it’s tough to tell how many average consumers caught the correlation and we think Motorola could have done more with an ad that showed off what the Xoom can do, but with an $800 price perhaps the Xoom is aimed at Geeks who know about the old Apple ad instead of the general public.

As usual GoDaddy relied on showing some skin and sending users online for an extended look. While the ads tend to turn off some users our guess is that they do work for driving traffic to the GoDaddy website.

Groupon was the talk of Twitter last night with their Faux Fundraising commercials. While some users swore off the service on Twitter we’re guessing that the Groupon website will see a collection of new users this morning who go looking to see what the service has in their area. Groupon is helping users donate to the causes that were poked at in their commercials.

Sony wins the award for creepiest ad of the year with a spot for the Xperia Play, the company’s upcoming Android phone that is designed for gaming. Check out the everyone’s favorite Android mascot getting thumbs in the ad below.

Best Buy also showed up with some confusing spots featuring Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne to tell shoppers about the new Best Buy Buy Back program. The Buy Back program is a new service from Best Buy that will buy back your old tech for a specific price. The service is free this week, but will require an additional fee soon.

A collection of online companies like CarMax, Cars.com and others all joined in with Super Bowl ads this year. We have a roundup of the online services and websites which advertised in Super Bowl 45.

Droid Guy points to a Pocketnow article that the Motorola Atrix webtop accessory will be priced at $150 with availability at Best Buy. At $150 the webtop is a viable accessory for users who don’t need a netbook, but want a larger screen for mobile computing. Thanks to the dual core processor and 1GB DDR2 ram in the Atrix the device is able to deliver a very usable mobile experience.

Here’s a look at how the Motorola Atrix works:

The Motorola Atrix 4G is powerful, with a 1GHz dual core processor and 1GB DDR2 RAM, 16GB on board storage and a 960 x 540 qHD screen, but that’s not the only reason we chose it.

The Motorola Atrix 4G can dock into a laptop-like device to deliver a desktop experience, what Motorola is calling Webtop, including the FireFox browser. When docked in the Laptop dock or the desk stand dock you also retain access to your phone so you can use send text messages, use your apps and more.

While the phone is one of the most powerful smart phones we’ve seen at CES this year the ability to use the phone as a replacement for your netbook or ultraportable laptop has the potential to change the way users look at their mobile workflow. We really like the ability to choose which way you will use the device during your day or a trip, rather than committing to a specific device.

To get a better idea of how the Motorola Atrix 4G works and why we chose it as our best smart phone of CES 2011.

Motorola Atrix Smartphone, Transforms to Laptop With Moto Webtop is a post by Josh Smith from Notebooks.com.

One of the notable items we’ve seen so far at CES 2011 is the Motorola Atrix, a smartphone that can be docked in a laptop shell or in a dock next to a monitor to deliver a desktop-like experience for browsing the web with a FireFox browser.

The Motorola Atrix is powered by a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and has 1GB of DDR2 RAM built in which really kicks in to deliver when you dock the smartphone in the HD Dock to connect a display or when you connect the Atrix to the Motorola Webtop.

Other key specs include a 5MP rear facing camera, front facing camera, 4-inch display, 16GB of on board memory and a micro-SD slot. The Moto Atrix runs Android 2.2 and will work on the At&T 4G network.

The Webtop is an 11.6″ laptop which allows you to snap the Atrix in the rear and get a laptop-like experience on the go. Rather than using its own processor, the Webtop basically acts as a display, mouse and keyboard for the Atrix which is still providing all of the power.

Motorola Atrix Demo Video from eRealtyFilm

When you are connected to the Webtop you can access your phone to send text messages and interact with apps as if you had the phone in your hands. When you disconnect you can take your open browser tabs with you.

The Atrix looks cool based on our initial time with the device at CES 2011 and definitely has potential. The biggest unknown right now is how much the dock and the webtop will cost. If the webtop is priced close to even a cheap netbook it will be hard for many consumers to justify the price.

Motorola Teases Honeycomb Tablet for CES 2011 is a post by Josh Smith from Notebooks.com.

According to this video, Motorola is set to unveil the next generation of tablets at CES 2011 where it is expected that we will see the Motorola Honeycomb tablet. The actual tablet will likely look pretty similar to the Motorola 10-inch Honeycomb tablet that was shown off at the D: Dive into Mobile event in early December.

If you aren’t familiar, Honeycomb, it’s an upcoming version of Android which is designed to work with the larger screens found on tablets. The current versions of Android, FroYo and Gingerbread are both aimed at smartphones like the Nexus S and other popular Droid phones. While you can find Android powered tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the version of Android that it runs isn’t optimized for the larger screens of the Tab.

Here’s a look at the Motorola Tablet:

That is the term Verizon uses for a device they cannot name but is expected to cause a lot of demand at their retail locations.

The post linked above speculates that because Apple likes to announce new products on Tuesdays and they often do so with very short notice, that this could be the much anticipated and yet to be confirmed Verizon iPhone. However, an update said that one of their readers reminded them that the Motorola Droid Pro is supposed to be available for preorder on the same day, which seems much more likely. And now a leaked internal memo shows pricing for the Droid Pro ($179) and the Samsung Continuum ($199) makes it even more likely that the “Iconic Device” is not the iPhone but likely the Droid Pro.

If you are planning to buy an iPhone this week but really wish you could get one for use with Verizon, it would be wise to at least wait till next Tuesday and if you can hold off till January, that might be wise as well, since there are plenty of rumors that it will become reality at that time.
