HSDPA Speedtest results U810Fujitsu introduced two computers with AT&T's HSDPA built-in today and I got a chance to play with them. I pointed the U810 to speedtest.net and was blown away by its upload speed. The speed test starts off slow on the download portion, but the upload speed shoots to 3697 kb/s! I've been struggling to get 10% of that speed using my Sprint EVDO cards.

Sprint EVDO ExpressCardApple’s officially supporting Novatel EVDO and HSDPA cards for Cingular, Sprint and Verizon. Until now MacBook Pro owners had to either download software from forums or purchase WWAN products from Mac specialists like 3GStore. I was recently thinking about purchasing a MacBook Pro, but one of the major sticking points was the lack of support for Sprint EVDO cards. The Apple software update will support the following cards:

The HP Compaq nc6400 is the first notebook with a tri-band UMTS modem supporting data rates of up to 3.6 megabits per second.
The HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC with integrated Cingular Wireless BroadbandConnect is expected to be available in late December at a starting price of $1,599. HP nc6400 customers can get monthly unlimited Cingular BroadbandConnect service for $59.99. International plans also are available. A North American plan of 100 megabytes for $109 per month provides for usage in Canada and Mexico, as well as unlimited domestic data. Cingularâ€â„¢s global plan of 100 megabytes for $139 a month covers data usage in more than two dozen countries worldwide, as well unlimited use in the United States.
