When constructing a PowerPoint presentation you might want to create notes to help you discuss in detail key points of the presentation. You can do this in the standard view of PowerPoint 2007 and 2010, but it’s not the optimal way to create and edit PowerPoint notes. We’ll show you how to see notes and slides at the same time to make it easier to edit your PowerPoint presentations.

By default this is the current view when working in PowerPoint 2010 or 2007, but suppose you would like to see your written notes in greater detail along with your slide presentation? Here is how you do it:

Go to the View tab.

Under view, look in the Presentation Views group and click Notes Page.

This will now display both the slide and your notes at the same time.

If you are running an older version of PowerPoint such as PowerPoint 2003, click View > Notes Page.

Do you ever wish you could send emails to a specific folder automatically so that you can choose when to deal with them? Well, you’re in luck. You can use message rules in most email programs to send emails to specific folders or even to delete them. In this guide we will show you how to use message rules in Windows live Hotmail.

I recently transitioned my personal blog from Windows Live Spaces to WordPress, but one of the things I noticed was the amount of comment emails that are sent to my Windows Live Hotmail inbox. Fortunately, Hotmail makes its easy to customize and configure your inbox and with the new wave 4 release./ Now that the service includes unlimited rules, you can create as many rules as you need to keep your inbox clean and organized.

The first thing I will do is setup a folder just for messages from WordPress. To do that, under the folders pane in Hotmail, click New Folder. Inyour case, create the folders you need for rules you plan to create.

Give the folder a name and click Save.

Next click the Options link at the right hand top of the Hotmail page.

Under Customizing Hotmail, click Rules for sorting new messages link.

Click New.

Select the type of messages you want this rule to be applied to, you have a number of options:

In my case, I will select Sender’s address. Avoid using criteria with invalid characters such as period or exclamation sign.

The next option is to select where I want those messages to go, in my case, it’s the WordPress folder I created earlier. Since I already created the folder, I will click in the ‘Move to Inbox’ If you have not created a folder, just enter the name in the Move to a new folder field.

Then click Save.

Your messages from that particular address will automatically be moved to that folder.

You can now review or delete the filter. Keep creating filters in Windows Live Hotmail until you have your messages sorted how you want. Just remember if you send the email messages to a specific folder they won’t show up in your inbox.

If you have recently installed Windows 7 and you are seeing multiple operating system entries on the Windows Boot Manager, here is a quick way to remove it.

Please make sure you remove the one that is not needed or not working.

Click Start, type: MSCONFIG.exe

Hit Enter

This will open the Microsoft System Configuration Utility, go to the Boot tab

Select the entry and click Delete.

You can also change the Timeout to 0

Click Apply and OK

Windows will now automatically start without delay when you turn your computer on.

If you don’t see it, another utility you can use to remove unwanted boot entries is NeoSmart Technologies EasyBCD Creator.

One of the things I love about Windows 7 is the ability to quickly access features and functionality. Particularly access to your information is one of the great benefits of the OS, Instant Search is one example, but there is another significant improvement, its called a Jump List.

Jump Lists are contextual menus built into Taskbar and Start Menu list displaying your most recently accessed files along with common Task in some apps you can quickly start (jump into). In Windows XP, your only option was either the Recent Items menu (which still exist in Windows 7), the application File menu recent list or searching for the in a folder.

Jump List in Windows 7

There are several applications I use day in day out, Microsoft Word, Windows Live Writer and Paint are a few examples. There are either articles I am currently working on or would like to reference. As I write more articles, the oldest ones will be removed from the list. If you want to keep more items in the list you can change that easily, here is how you do it.

1. Right click your Taskbar (or click Start, type Taskbar, hit enter on your keyboard).

2. Click Properties > Start menu (tab) > Customize

3. Under Start menu size, enter the number for the amount recent items you would like to see displayed in your Jump Lists

4. Click OK > then Apply and OK

Increased Jump List size

The Jump List will now display more recent items for you to access.

Desktop Slideshow This is not really a time saver, but if you want to use up some idle time at work before the clock hit’s 5 P.M. here’s is a nice feature of the Windows Desktop you definitely will enjoy. In Windows 7, Microsoft provides in addition to window colour, the ability to choose pre-packaged themes that matches the bundled wallpapers. Glass colour options have increased from 8 in Vista to 16 now in 7. The Personalization explorer supports changing your desktop wallpaper automatically at timed intervals or you invoke it manually by right clicking the desktop and click the ‘Next Desktop Background Picture’ contextual menu option.
