Best Buy will have a couple of Compaq netbooks for sale at Best Buy. The Compaq CQ10-405DX is a 10.1-inch netbook and will be just $149.99 in addition to many other Black Friday Laptops.

Of course like most netbooks it has the Intel Atom Processor. We’re not sure which speed yet. In addition, it has 1 GB of RAM and 160GB of hard drive space.

While being incredibly under-powered when compared to a traditional notebook, these are very small computers. They are only an inch thick and 2.57 pounds.

The computer has three USB 2.0 ports, a 5-in-1 digital media card slot, and a VGA out port. There is a webcam and Wi-Fi and Compaq’s Quicksync software to sync files with your other computers.

You would not want to rely on this as a primary system unless maybe it was for a child or someone who had incredibly simple computer needs, like email and writing short documents. It would however make a good secondary device for checking email or finalizing a word document on a trip.

If you are looking for a larger hard drive you may be interested in the Compaq CQ10-525DX which is also a Best Buy Black Friday netbook and is available for $249.

Also, be sure to compare the specs on the Compaq notebook to those of the eMachines eME442-V133 at Best Buy or the Compaq Compaq CQ6-109WM WalMart is selling, which is essentially the same computer as the Amazon deal. Best Buy’s eMachines deal comes with a better video processor. All three are the same size with the same memory and hard drive specs. Processors and graphics are what differentiate them. And price, if the Amazon deal ends up more or less than the $290 level the others are close to.

Circuit City is now selling HP’s cheapest 17-inch notebook, the Compaq Presario CQ70. This notebook is relatively basic, but if you’re yearning for a big display on a small budget it’s worth a look.

The CQ70 has relatively tame specs compared to many 17-inch notebooks. It comes with an Intel Pentium dual-core processor, 3GB of RAM a 250GB hard drive and DVD burner. The display has a resolution of 1440×900 pixels. The CQ70 has integrated Intel graphics.

The CQ70 includes an integrated Web cam, multi-format media card reader and a full numeric keypad. This notebook is fine for home users with relatively basic needs. It should playback DVDs just fine and is ok for basic video editing, but if you plan on working with HD content or playing 3D video games this computer isn’t for you.

The Compaq Presario CQ70 is now available from Circuit City for $579 after a $120 discount and a $30 rebate.

The Compaq Presario C712US is a retail version of HP’s Compaq Presario C700T series. There are several retail models of the C700T that are being sold as Black Friday specials, including the C717NR for $299 at Circuit City. The C712US and C717NR have identical specs, but the C717NR is $449 at checkout, with a $150 mail in rebate. If you want to avoid the hassle of a rebate, go for the Staples deal.

This notebook is adequte for basic home users and is more than powerful enough for basic photo editing, web browsing and productivity applications. The C712US is not robust enough for complex video games or intensive video editing. It’s still an excellent value at $349, assuming you can get your hands on one on Black Friday.

HP announced two budget business notebooks today for small businesses. The Compaq 6720s and 6820s are optimized for price and feature a silver lid, a deviation from the companyâ€â„¢s standard dark-gray exteriors.

The 6720s comes with a 15.4-inc widescreen display. The 6820s has nearly identical specs and options, except it has a 17-inch widescreen display and a numeric keypad on the keyboard. The 6820s also has ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 dedicated graphics.

The new notebooks can be configured with an Intel Celeron or Core 2 Duo processor, up to 160 GB hard drive, and a DVD burner. The Celeron should only be selected if you plan on using the 6720s or 6820s for the most basic tasks. HP will offer up to a 2.4GHz, 4MB L2 cache Inel Core 2 Duo processor for power hungry users.

Both models have hard drive protection to protect against sudden movement and drops. HP also includes Protect Tools to secure your data.

There are a range of wireless options, including Bluetooth 2.o and 802.11n. There are no wireless broadband options for the 6720s or 6820s.

Ports, plugs and other extras are pretty basic on the 6720s and 620s. Thereâ€â„¢s an ExpressCard slot, SD card slot, three USB 2.0 ports and a VGA port. Thereâ€â„¢s also an Ethernet port, mic-in, headphone out and Kensington Lock slot.

The 6720s can be ordered with either a 55WHr or 47Whr 6-cell battery. The 6820s ships with a 55Whr 6-cell battery.

While the 6720s and 6820s can’t compete with HP’s more expensive business notebooks, they do offer a good value. The new silver lid also provides a bit of personality, without looking cheap or gimicky.

HP announced two new business notebooks today at a presentation called The Art of Small Business. The Compaq 6715B and 6515B are the first HP Business notebooks since the launch of Microsoft’s Vista. The new line of business notebooks are exclusively widescreen.The 6515B, a 14.1-inch widescreen notebook, comes with your choice of either a BrightView or anti-glare display. The Compaq 6515B weighs in at just over 5-pounds. The 6715B is nearly identical to the 6515B, save for a 15.4-inch widescreen display.

The 6515B and 6715B come with plenty of wireless options, including a b/g/draft-n card and a built-in Verizon wireless broadband card.
