DeviceVM is launching SplashTop a platform that makes it possible to start up your computer and begin browsing the web or make a Skype call within five seconds. SplashTop , which is embedded within a motherboard and runs off of flash memory, may be available in notebooks as early as next year.

ASUS U3 Notebook Announced
Featuring a piano-black finish and a leather bound palm rest, the ASUS U3 is the latest 13.3-inch widescreen to notebook hit the market. The U3 weighs in at under four pounds, but lacks an optical drive, which is standard on most other notebooks this size.
ASUS F8 Notebook Announced
SUS announced its F8 notebook series, manufactured with the company’s Infusion technology a manufacturing process used to inlay the case’s surfaces into the chassis. ASUS says this process will make the F8 more durable. This 14.1-inch widescreen notebook features a built-in TV tuner, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and either the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 (512MB VRAM) or NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics (256MB VRAM) GPU.
